‘Un Ballo in Maschera’ at Teatro alla Scala

This May, Sondra Radvanovsky will return to the illustrious Teatro alla Scala to perform Amelia in Giuseppe Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera. A signature role of hers, Ms. Radvanovsky has performed Amelia with several of the world’s leading opera companies including The Metropolitan Opera, Teatro Real de Madrid, Opéra national de Paris and Opernhaus Zurich; she will return to the role at Bayerische Staatsoper next month. 

This new production by Marco Arturo Marelli, who makes his directorial debut with the company, will also feature Francesco Meli as Riccardo, Luca Salsi and Ludovic Tézier as Renato, Yulia Matochkina and Okka von der Damerau as Ulrica, Federica Guida as Oscar, Liviu Holender as Silvano, Sorin Coliban as Samuel, and Jongmin Park as Tom. Conducting duties will be shared between Nicola Luisotti and Giampaolo Bisanti. 

Performances take place on May 4, 7, 10, 12, 14, 19, and 22.
