Official Biography

Sondra Radvanovsky is a globally celebrated artist. The depth and exquisite colour of her voice are matched by her dramatic acting ability and versatility across a remarkable range of repertoire, from the title roles in Rusalka and Lucrezia Borgia, to Roxane Cyrano de Bergerac and the title role in Turandot. She is widely regarded as one of the finest living Verdi sopranos, and is among the world’s foremost interpreters of bel canto.

This season Radvanovsky makes a highly anticipated role debut as Minnie in Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West for the Gran Teatre del Liceu. She returns to the Metropolitan Opera as the title role in Tosca, and further appears as Maddalena di Coigny in Giordano’s Andrea Chénier for the Wiener Staatsoper and as the title role in Manon Lescaut for Teatro Real de Madrid. On the concert platform, Radvanovsky stars in the Metropolitan Opera’s Diamond Jubilee Gala Concert as well as a Gala Concert celebrating Régine Crespin hosted by Opéra national de Paris. She further performs a series of Verismo concerts with the orchestra of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and appears in recital at LA Opera and Gran Teatre del Liceu.
