‘Tosca’ at Teatro di San Carlo
Sondra Radvanovsky returns to Teatro di San Carlo on September 10 and 13, appearing as the titular heroine in Puccini’s fiery political thriller, Tosca.
Widely regarded as one of the best interpreters of the role today, Radvanovsky’s portrayal of Tosca has been called a “great triumph” (Seen and Heard International, “vivid and vital” (New York Classical Review), and “surpassingly beautiful” (New York Times), with Operawire raving, “Sondra Radvanovsky did not play Tosca. Radvanovsky is Tosca”
Radvanovsky joins a star-studded cast in Edoardo De Angelis’ production, led by conductor Dan Ettinger. Francesco Meli sings Mario Cavaradossi, with Luca Salsi as Baron Scarpia, Lorenzo Mazzucchelli as Angelotti, and Pietro Di Bianco as the Sacristan.
Radvanovsky will return to this signature role later this season at the Opéra National de Paris. Visit her Performances page for more information.
